The StoryTeller
by: Psalmnoel F. Figueroa
All day long we go through our lives
neglecting the presence of the Almighty One
Stumbling and fumbling we skip through it all
but never notice the Man who helped us through the fall
As I stood up and looked at the mirror
Blank emotions rose up within
Searching for happiness I ought to understand
Never knew that the Man, He has a plan
He showed me glimpse of my future history
Amazed by the wonders and the powers in His glory
since then I stood up firm and stable
in my faith, giving Him my all in all
but after some time I went to my old self
giving away to pleasures of sin
day by day I strayed too far
to the point of no return, no light in sight
I worked hard to get myself back to the road
but found myself washed by the raging rivers
Rivers of men whom like myself before denied
The wonder and power of God, and the one and only Christ
I swam and pushed myself to the limit
just to swim in the opposite direction
of the rivers who continue to pull me away
to safety, to haven, to God’s amazing grace
As years had passed I almost gave up
In shame I let go of my rock
Let myself be washed away to the raging rivers
And said I dont know what to do, im nothing without you
at that very moment time had stopped
I felt myself lifting up away from the waters
floating away I found myself in dry land
and saw the Man, smiling at me, and I smiled back
No words could ever compare how happy I was
when I came to know the Man, the Mighty Jesus
All it took was a confession to myself
Nothing could ever move me, without Christ Himself
I now find myself telling His story
of how he ended up dying in that tree
and how he made our lives really better
I am now nothing, but His Storyteller
this is my story of how my old self
struggled to swim across the raging waters
now I dont have to swim at all
because I have a bridge, who will help me through it all.
