Restoration and Healing, if we look at these two words, have the same meaning..almost. These two words mean action of fixing of a certain problem. Right?
According to Dictonary, Restoration is an act of restoring something, where in Restore means to Bring back to original condition. Healing on the other hand is an act of making something healthy again, some dictionary tells purification. Bottomline, this two words have the same meaning, but differs in some aspect or two.
Healing is making something healthy again. For example, if you have sliced your fingers with a super-sharp knife, doctors could heal it. They have technology to stich or to reconnect your limbs together to make it a whole finger again. BUT the question is, “does it still function well?”. Another one, if you have a friend and you both argued about some boylet or girllet at school, it would create a rift between your friendship. In time, it will heal, both of your would talk and get together again, BUT, “do you both have the friendship-heart you had before?”. No. So rift would be still there, waiting patiently for another strike. That is the human heart. If pain struck the human heart, it would always be on guard, ready to defend its castle again. The old open gate of the heart would be closed and would have maximum security, creating a gap between hearts.
Restoration is an act of bringing back the original form of a certain thing. Let us take the above examples, if your fingers would be restored, IT WILL FUNCTION BETTER. If your friend had an argument and both of you are restored, YOUR HEART WILL BE MORE CONNECTED WITH EACH OTHER. Restoration could not be provided by doctors, medicine, science, and even ol’ alchemy. It could only be provided my our God. Lets read Mark 8:22-25,
Jesus Heals a Blind Man at Bethsaida
They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”
He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”
Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
This verse portrays the life of God’s Children in times of great struggle…well that is atleast for me. The story tells the healing of a blind man, but it took 2 tries to completely restore his sight. If we look at the scripture, it used the word RESTORE. As mentioned earlier, Restoration is the process of making something revert to its original form and function. Pero with CHRIST, we would NOT JUST be Restored, BUT ALSO BE IMPROVED. Look nyo ung verse 25, “…and he saw clearly.” I have been making mistakes again for the past week and I feel im going back to my old life again, but as I read the bible last night, I talked to God and He showed me these verse. ^^,. I vaguely heard Him say “I am showing you the right path to take but you see just part of it because of sins, but dont worry, Ill show it again to you, so that your sights would be restored and you may get back to me again..”.
In our life, we really need to be restored. You know why? In order to remove those rifts and gaps that our old life created. ^^,. Today, I really felt the restoration in my heart. ^^,. thank you God! ^^,.
