I am a proud person when it comes of my life. I mean when somebody asks what would I be or what would I plan to do in the next years, I always am proud to say that I would be married in a specific place, with my mind set in that direction. However, with all the plans I made, I realized this morning as I read a passage, that it might be wrong to boast about tomorrow’s plan…
James 4:13-17
Boasting About Tomorrow
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
Our life isn’t really about us. What we do is not also for us. What we have is also not for us. Everything we have and everything we do is for God. Why do we, specially me, plan something that we boast around thinking that we will achieve it. Do we not know that God controls everything. So why do we boast it?
Its not wrong to dream and to plan for ourselves, but let us place God ahead of our plans as well. Ung tipong si Lord muna ung bibigyan mo ng plan mo bago sarili mo. Tapos wag natin i boast, because according to the word, we dont know what would happen for we dont have the slightest idea about tomorrow.
I will have an impact in this generation and all my plans will succeed, by God’s will. God bless!
Remember, its not wrong to plan, but it is wrong to plan and boast like you are ahead of Christ. 🙂
