“I am a good person”/“ok naman ako ah”. Mdalas natin yan marining kapag may mga tao tayong sinasabihan, pinapagalitan, or even kinekwentuhan lang. Para bang masyado na silang confident sa life nia na they are living the the norm’s standards. Pero if I were to ask you, are you truly confident? E sa end ng life natin, are you confident that you are going with God? Confident…confident..
Isang manong, habang naglalakad, e nakakita ng isang church na ang saya saya ng tao. Napadaan sya and habang pinapakinggan nya ung music and nakikita ung tao, bigla syang nadismaya at umalis papalayo. At that exact moment, a little girl, out from her sunday school, saw that manong with that unpleasant reaction. She quickly responded to that and followed him. Not far, she caught up with him, and she asked him,
“Mister, why did you react like that?”.
The man, not knowing what to say, just told the little girl,
“Im a good person and I dont need that.”.
The girl smiled and asked him,
“do you keep the TEN Commandments?”.
“Ya, most of them”.
“Have you ever lied?”
“Ya, i think so”
“Have you ever stole something,?”
“Ya, once”
“Have you ever looked mischieviously on the opposite sex?”
“of course. Im human aren’t I?”
“That is just three of the commandments, and according to you mister, you failed. But still you are saying you dont need God because you are already good?"
The man, didnt know what to say, turned around slowly and wlaked away, thinking about the things the girl said.
There are always circumstances where we would think that we could carry ourselves all the time, and most of the time, in reality, we fail to do so. Akala natin ok na tayo, akala natin mabait tayo, un pla akala lang lahat. Sa story sa taas kanina, the man ignored God’s calling upon him, and he proudly proclamed that he didnt need Him. Realize this, many of the people we have in our circle may not be the ones to help you see clearly, but little things. Minsan, ung mga ineexpect natin na magmumulat ng mga mata natin e sila pa ung nakakagulo. Check the story, a little girl opened the mind and eyes of the man. In real life, God uses that process. Sa mga hindi natin inaasahan na tao/circumstances manggagaling ung mga sagot na hinahanap natin, and in His grace, you will find favor and realistic realization of what we truly are – people who are not worthy to be saved by the Lord, but had been saved ANYWAY. We are sinners, but Jesus nullified that, so dont ever say that you are good and you dont need Christ. In the first place, He gave you that greatness, so be grateful!
Im not saying that being too confident is a crime. No. We should have just a little bit of humility. Remeber that everyone falls short of the glory of the Lord, so we need not to boast. But if we accept Christ as our Lord ans Savior, we would undestand the confident attitude that God wants us to have,,,
God bless!!
