Anger, hatred, dismay, name it. These are the NUMBER ONE enemy of all the people in the world. It could be found inside us, dwelling within us. All people have had a hard time dealing with these things, making them more and more distant to God because of what they do with their temperament…
But, is it ok to be angry? Surely we all know that anger is emotion. But do you know that anger is out emotional response? And do you know that anger is OUR own response to things and circumstances? There is no truth in the lines that tell ‘she made me angry’ or ‘you made me mad’. It is our decision, our own emotional response. Bottomline, we make ourselves angry…
According to a particular verse in the scripture, John 2:15-16, "So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!“
Jesus I think, was angry at this moment. Because He overturned tables and made the people inside the temple get out. If people does things that dishonors us or dishonors other people, specially God, it would really make us mad. You know why? Because WE KNOW THEY DONT DESERVE THAT KIND OF TREATMENT. Am i right?
If we look further into the verses, John 2:23 "Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name.” This states that Jesus removed the anger within Him immediately and continued to do what He is doing-healing and sharing the word of God to the people.
Refering to James 1:9, “…Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry”This tells us that we could be angry but we should avoid it in any way we can. According to Proverbs 15:18 A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.
We are free to express our emotions, may it be happiness or anger, we are free. But let us stop and ask ourselves. What would Jesus do? Would Jesus plant anger in his heart? Would Jesus speak of bad things to other people? NO. Jesus would feel compassion for them and show them discipline. Anger would not be planted, instead it will be removed and replaced with love in order to serve more people.
I hope everyone got this.. ^^,. God Bless everyone!!
