Today, as we took our regular route to the office, I rode on a bus with a very cool sign inside. It says “Salvation is free, Paid by Christ”. It took my mind and heart a few seconds to process the different emotions and realizations that flashed through me. I was reminded once again of the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus on the cross to redeem our souls that were directed straight to damnation. And it made my heart happy, because it is FREE.
In our generation today, many things has to be paid for – services, food, drinks, or even a simple massage could cost you something. Before, when technology is just an idea for many, people get their everyday needs from nature, freely given and freely provided. I could say that life before was a lot simpler than now.
Free is a term that says “You can have this, no strings attached!”, or something like that. It also depicts a society or a trait where everything is given without any hesitation. When something is free, what do we do? We grab it right? We take it and not in pieces, but bunches! But when SALVATION is brought to the table, why do people always avoid it? Why do people hesitate to grab this and take it? We know that it is free, but what do we do with it?
If we read the entire books of Matthew, Luke, Mark and John, it all tells the story of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross to redeem our souls. It depicts the torture, the pain and the sorrows of our Lord during His time. But stil, we could clearly see that He endured it all just to save us all. Salvation is freely given, why not grab it?
Salvation is a very very heavy word, and it takes a life-long process to understand it. To understand it, we have to go and read the word of God, which could be found in the Bible. It is our human-manual and our life instructions. It will help you greatly if we try to read and seek His wisdom.
Salvation is free, Christ paid for it. Remember that.
