Last week, i think I made a post about the verse in the book of James. I am motivated to write, but not in a “invigorated” sense. What I mean is that back when I was writing that post, I am referring to experiences and things that happened a long time ago, and I think that when writing this kind of stuff, you really have to experience it to believe it. Let me tell you why.
Last April 22, my body was in a state that is so stressed out. Maybe because of the deadlines, and also the unbelievable temperature of the Philippines. Point is I was not in the mood to do what was asked for me to do. Later that afternoon, I took a break, slowly bent my head down, and prayed…
I asked God if I could humbly be replenished – not just in body but also in the spirit. My spiritual mana has not been so full these past few months and I feel that I am slowly drifting away from the presence of the Lord, so I asked for motivation. Replenishment, motivation, wisdom, and strength are the things I asked. I can still feel my body asking for some kind of rest, until I remembered that exact verse in the book of James.
James 1:6-8
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
When we ask, we must not doubt.
I prayed and asked God for replenishment but the thing I lacked, is the faith that I will obtain it right away. That few minutes of prayer seemed to make more sense after realizing this. In an instant, my heavy eyes became too light and it opened by itself. My weak body felt like it slept for 8 hours and my mind just got pretty worked up because I started working again with a sense of excitement and motivation.
This is why I strongly believe that sometimes, its best if we experience what we read on the Bible. 🙂
God bless!
